WHAT WE DO

With help from our officers, we hold events for the Harker community such as student lectures and guest speakers. In addition, we hold monthly club meetings to discuss various AI topics and we inform all club members of various opportunities involving AI.

Student lectures:
-
We invite Harker students to give lunch talks on an AI topic of their choice.
-
The topics covered during student lectures vary; they depend upon the subject of interest of the student speaker. In the past, lecturers have covered topics ranging from linear regression to reinforcement learning to independent AI research projects.

Guest speakers:
-
We invite professionals from the AI industry to come give a talk to Harker students. These professionals come from a variety of companies and backgrounds.
-
Guest speakers usually talk about their general experience with AI and focus on a more specific subject to talk about. In the past, we've had speakers talk about AI for beginners, convolutional neural nets (CNNs), the future of AI.

Weekly Wednesday Workshops:
-
Students will be led through the entire process of an AI project including installing the necessary software, obtaining data, and training & testing models.
-
These workshops will start with a short tutorial on a specific topic, and then dive into hands-on coding.
-
Officers as well as our lecture team will lead the sessions.
